Verendus Industries needed an entry-level application to simplify stage automation for professionals.

Stage automation is complex and risky, with potential for human error that could damage expensive equipment.

Our goal was to create a safe and user-friendly solution using Dark Mode Material Design.

Creating presets by combining multiple motors.

Project Challenges

Verendus faced these key challenges:

  1. Simplicity: Making stage automation simple for users.
  2. Safety: Ensuring the system prevents human errors.
  3. Complex States: Managing multiple tasks and states for each motor.
Advanced error handling for safety meassures.

Design Approach

Our design strategy focused on three main areas:

  1. User Safety: Configuring soft and hard limits to prevent errors.
  2. Clear Interface: Using Dark Mode Material Design for clarity and ease of use.
  3. Managing Complexity: Simplifying the display of tasks and states.
Clearly show when movement is in progress (also locking certain features).

Key Features of the Redesigned Verendus Application

Safety Features

  1. Limits Configuration: Set limits for each motor to prevent exceeding safe parameters.
  2. Error Prevention: Ensure no Move or Jog command can exceed these limits, protecting equipment.

Dark Mode Material Design

  1. User-Friendly Interface: Clear and intuitive design to help users navigate the system easily.
  2. Focus on Usability: Dark mode reduces eye strain and improves visibility in various lighting conditions.

Task and State Management

  1. Comprehensive Monitoring: Display over 50 different tasks and states for each motor on a single screen.
  2. Simplified Grouping: Easily group or ungroup motors and manage their states.
  3. Error and Warning Alerts: Clearly show warnings, errors, and movement states to keep users informed.

Impact and Results

The redesigned Verendus application provided several benefits:

  • Increased Safety: Configuring limits reduced the risk of human error and equipment damage.
  • Enhanced Usability: Dark Mode Material Design made the application easy to use and visually appealing.
  • Efficient Management: Simplified handling of multiple tasks and states improved user efficiency.

Conclusion

The Verendus project showcases how thoughtful design can simplify complex processes and enhance safety.

By focusing on user safety, clear interface design, and efficient task management, we delivered an application that makes stage automation accessible and secure for professionals.

This project highlights the importance of simplicity, clarity, and purpose-driven design in creating effective solutions.
